Njan Steve Lopez MOVIE REVIEW
It is a 2014 mystery-crime film produced in Malayalam by Rajeev Ravi in India. Media Mill, M.R. Filmworks, and Jar Pictures are also supporting the project. Farhaan Faasil and Ahaana Krishna play the main parts in this Thiruvananthapuram-set movie. Their first film together as a hero and heroine.
As a college student, Steve's main worry in life is how to tell Anjali, his childhood friend, that he loves her. Steve has a carefree lifestyle, enhanced by the security provided by his father George's job as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Thiruvananthapuram. He owns an iPhone, uses WhatsApp often, and enjoys going out to drink with his friends.
This idyllic scene is destroyed when Steve happens to see a stranger being mauled by scythe-wielding thugs one day. Even though Steve is powerless to stop them, he transports the wounded guy to the hospital once the attackers abandon their victim.
Here's where he discovers there's more to the story than meets the eye.The individual he assisted is from a criminal group, and George is clearly upset that his son has become involved in all of this.
Steve's concerns grow when he is summoned to the police station to identify the attackers in a lineup that does not include any of the men he has seen.
On his way back from the police station, Steve notices one of the scythe-wielding men driving a car and decides to follow him. Hari, the man Steve is following, appears to be oblivious that a college student is following him, but this is obviously not true.Two of Hari's men knock Steve out. When Steve returns to his senses, he finds himself bound and gagged in a room overlooking Hari's house. Things get murkier when Hari says he's going to let Steve go, and Steve discovers Hari knows his father.
Steve only wants to do the proper and humane thing by the people he meets, but his acts of goodwill exacerbate the situation he's in. Steve realizes George and the police force are somehow linked with the gangs and are taking sides, possibly to maintain a quiet situation.
